Hoeven Names Citizens To Serve On State Boards
BISMARCK, N.D. - Governor Hoeven has appointed several citizens to serve on state boards.
Kirk Welstad of Minot has been appointed to a three-year term on the Education Standards and Practices Board. Welstad is the owner of Connole and Somerville Heating and Air Conditioning. The Board reviews educator requests for licensure and teaching endorsement, oversees state staff development programs, and determines approval of teacher education programs for North Dakota's colleges and universities. The Board is responsible for monitoring the teaching profession.
Merle Jost of Grassy Butte has been appointed to a four-year term on the Game and Fish Advisory Board. Jost farms and ranches, and is the Executive Director for the McKenzie County Grazing Association. Additionally, Rita Greer of Mandan has been re-appointed to the Board. Greer farms, and is the Vocational Resource Educator for the Litchville-Marion Public High School. The Board advises the Game and Fish director regarding any policy pertaining to hunting, fishing, trapping, and other outdoor activities.
Gene Jackson of Dickinson has been appointed to a five-year term on the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. Jackson is the President of Kadrmas, Lee & Jackson. The Board registers and gives exams for certifying engineers.
