Hoeven To Launch State's First Governor's Homeland Security Conference
BISMARCK, N.D. - Governor John Hoeven will launch the first Governor’s Homeland Security Conference, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, November 30 at the Bismarck Civic Center, 601 E. Sweet Ave. Hoeven will address the conference on Homeland Security: Prevention, Preparedness and Response at 10 a.m.
State Homeland Security Coordinator Doug Friez will facilitate the program. Co-facilitators include representatives from the state Division of Emergency Management, the League of Cities and the Association of Counties.
Experts in public safety and emergency response will join local leaders, Friez and other state officials to learn about the state's prevention, preparedness and response plan.
Topics of discussion will include threat assessment, roles and responsibilities within emergency-operation plans, and communicating with citizens.
