Hoeven Asks Hildebrand to Convene Advisory Board
BISMARCK, N.D. - Governor John Hoeven today said that now that the Game and Fish Department has completed its round of special statewide meetings, he has asked department Director Dean Hildebrand to convene the advisory board to finalize their recommendation regarding the pheasant opener. Hoeven said he intends to have a final decision in place by the end of the month, as he indicated when he began the process.
“We are completing the process in a thoughtful and conscientious manner,” Hoeven said. “The next step is to have Director Hildebrand and the board discuss the input from the recent round of meetings and bring forward their recommendations.”
Hildebrand has met with citizens throughout the state in a round of special meetings over the past two weeks to take comments on the pheasant season, as well as on other issues such as hunter access and non-resident hunters. The round of eight meetings concluded last night in Casselton.
“We’ve received a great deal of input and ideas, and we’ve worked hard to make this a fair and productive process,” Hoeven said.
