Hoeven Announces Recreational Trails Program Grant Recipients
BISMARCK, N.D. - Governor John Hoeven today announced that 14 projects will receive grant awards of more than $540,000 for 2002 under the Recreational Trails Program. The program is a component of the U.S. Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act. The North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department administers the Recreational Trails Program.
The grants assist agencies, local communities and trail groups in the development, maintenance or rehabilitation of motorized and non-motorized recreational trails.
“North Dakota communities, large and small, are showcases of our state’s remarkable beauty,” Hoeven said. “These grants will provide towns and organizations with additional resources to enhance recreational opportunities for both residents and guests.”
