BISMARCK, N.D. - Governor John Hoeven today, in keeping with President George W. Bush’s national proclamation, designated September 6 through September 8, 2002, Days of Prayer and Remembrance in North Dakota.
“North Dakotans are encouraged to join together in prayer and remembrance to honor those who were lost, those who grieve, and those affected by the disastrous events of September 11,” Hoeven said. “Our prayers and remembrances will bring continued hope and strength for our great state and our great nation.”
Hoeven called on citizens to gather together in cities, towns, rural communities, neighborhoods and places of worship to honor all who were affected by the attacks on September 11, 2002. North Dakotans are encouraged to remember the event with memorial services, the ringing of bells and evening candlelight remembrance vigils.
