Tourism Director Search Committee Narrows List To Six Candidates
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today announced that the search committee for North Dakota’s new tourism director has narrowed the list of applicants to six.
Candidates include:
- Sara Otte Coleman - Director of Administration and Marketing, Bismarck-Mandan Convention and Visitors Bureau
- Cherie Harms - Former President and Co-owner, Makoché Recording Company
- Marion Houn - Lewis and Clark Event Coordinator, Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation
- Joanne Olson - Deputy Director, Department of Commerce, Tourism Division
- William Shalhoob - Owner, Schlotzsky’s Deli Restaurant and Wildhorse Western Furnishings
- Mark Zimmerman - Outdoor Promotions, Department of Commerce, Tourism Division
The committee will interview the six candidates next week and make recommendations to the Governor. Private sector selection committee members are:
- Charles Jeske - Manager, Alerus Center, Grand Forks
- Cole Carley - Executive Director, Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau
- David Borlaug - President, ND Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Foundation
- Terry Thiel - Executive Director, Dickinson Convention and Visitors Bureau
William Goetz, Chief of Staff, Office of the Governor, chairs the committee. Kathy Ibach, Communications Director, Human Resources Advisor, Office of the Governor; and Ron Rauschenberger, Senior Advisor, Office of the Governor, also serve on the committee.
