Hoeven Names Citizens to State Boards
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. Hoeven recently appointed several citizens to serve on state boards:
Susan Rae Helgeland of Fargo has been appointed to an open-ended term on the Olmstead Commission. Helgeland is regional director of the Mental Health Association of North Dakota. The Commission is charged with developing a plan to implement appropriate community-based placement for individuals with disabilities, consistent with the needs and available resources of the State.
Virginia Herberholz of Bismarck has been appointed to a three-year term on the Board of Cosmetology. Herberholz is a cosmetologist at Michael Jay’s Salon in Bismarck. The Board’s duties include establishing and enforcing health and safety standards for beauty schools and shops; examining, registering and licensing beauty schools, instructors, operators and shops.
Steve Kuhlman of Grand Forks has been appointed to a two-year term on the Economic Development Foundation. Chuck Hoge of Fargo has been reappointed to a two-year term on the Foundation. Kuhlman is vice president of the catalog division for Acme Electric/Tool Crib in Grand Forks; Hoge is vice president of Ottertail Power. The Foundation’s mission is to guide and direct economic activity in the state.
Greg Jund of Bismarck has been appointed to a three-year term on the Board of Occupational Therapy Practice. Jund is an occupational therapist specializing in hand therapy at the St. Alexius Human Performance Center. The Board licenses occupational therapists in the state.
Representative Lois Delmore of Grand Forks and John
Mahoney of Center have
been appointed to open-ended terms on the Commission on Drug and Alcohol Abuse.
Delmore is a teacher at Red River High School; Mahoney is an attorney with
Mahoney & Mahoney, and serves as the Oliver County State’s Attorney.
The Commission is charged with establishing and distributing guidelines regarding
drugs and alcohol programs, and reviewing funding awards.
