Hoeven Announces Midwest Telemark Expansion In Rugby

BISMARCK, N.D. - Governor John Hoeven today announced that Midwest Telemark, Inc. (MTI), a Mohall-based information technology company, has helped secure a location for an additional facility in Rugby with the assistance of local developers, the Governor’s office and the Department of Commerce.

Midwest Telemark, with seven other sites in North Dakota, will move into a facility in Rugby. The company, which currently employs nearly 500 people, will hire about 88 additional employees to staff the Rugby office.

“Smart Growth means working with companies to capitalize on opportunities,” Hoeven said. “I want to thank all who helped make this happen, especially Gary Saturn of the Rugby Job Development Authority, Tara Holt of the Center for Technology and Business and Steve Hett, President of Midwest Telemark, who worked closely with us to expand his company to Rugby.”

The Rugby Job Development Authority, the state Commerce Department, the Center for Technology and Business, and staff at Hoeven’s office coordinated efforts with MTI to secure the site soon after learning that the company intended to expand.

“I’m very happy to go into a small rural community, where I have a reliable and steady skilled workforce,” Hett said. “I’m also very impressed with the responsiveness and knowledge of the people we worked with at every stage of the move. Rugby is a great town, with a great work ethic.”

Midwest Telemark has offices in Beulah, Stanley, Kenmare, Mohall, Bottineau, Grafton, Langdon, and now Rugby.
