Citizens Appointed For State Service

BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. Hoeven recently appointed several citizens to serve on state boards:

Dr. James O’Connell and Erma Hauglie of Bismarck have been appointed to five-year terms on the Board of Dental Examiners. O’Connell is a dentist at The Center for Smile Design, Ltd; Hauglie is a consumer member on the board. The Board’s duties include examining, registering and licensing dentists in the state and handling complaints.

Ricky Engebretson of Fargo has been appointed to a six-year term on the Board of Architecture. Engebretson is president of R.L. Engebretson Company in Fargo. The Board’s duties include regulating North Dakota’s architectural profession and implementing policy regarding the examination, certification and licensing of architects.

Steve Repnow and Roger Wheeling of Minot have been appointed to three-year terms on the Independent Living Council. Allan Peterson of Fargo, Larry Skwarok of Dickinson and Karlene Warner of Devils Lake have been reappointed to three-year terms on the Council. Repnow is center director at Independence, Inc.; Wheeling is rehab services employment consultant at Rehab Services, Inc.; Peterson and Skwarok are consumer members; Warner is a learning disabilities teacher in the Devils Lake School System. The Council works to establish and expand independent living services to meet the needs of people with disabilities in the state.

Gary Dewhirst of Hettinger has been reappointed to a five-year term on the Board of Pharmacy. Dewhirst is a pharmacist at White Drug. The Board licenses pharmacists in the state.

Larry Johansen of Mohall and Sanford Qvale of Williston have been reappointed to three-year terms on the Oilseed Council. Johansen and Qvale are both farmers. The Council promotes the production, development, marketing and advertising of sunflower, safflower, rapeseed or canola, crambe, and flax within North Dakota.
