Hoeven Appoints Leitner To Board Of Higher Ed
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today named Phil Leitner, a senior at Valley City State University as the student member to the Board of Higher Education.
“The candidates were all excellent,” Hoeven said. “Phil’s leadership skills and civic involvement, both at Valley City State University, and across North Dakota are a good fit in helping meet our higher education goals. He also established a good working relationship with the Board as a student member of the Roundtable.”
Leitner has served as a member of the North Dakota Student Association, North Dakota Intercollegiate State Legislature, and as a student member to the ConnectND Executive Steering Committee and the Roundtable on Higher Education. He has also served as senator and student body president at Valley City State University.
Leitner will serve a one-year term on the board, beginning July 1, 2003.
