Hoeven Appoints Cramer To Public Service Commission
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today appointed Kevin Cramer commissioner of the Public Service Commission (PSC). He replaces Leo Reinbold, who will retire effective July 31, 2003. The main responsibility of the PSC is to regulate public utilities, and to assist industry in complying with all state and federal requirements.
“Kevin is committed to our number one priority - economic development and the creation of high paying jobs,” Hoeven said. “In addition, he has a distinguished record of public service and a knowledge of the PSC. To round it off, he’s a hard worker. I know he will serve the people of North Dakota with energy, knowledge and distinction.”
Cramer currently serves as the director of the Harold Schafer Leadership Foundation, located on the campus of the University of Mary in Bismarck. Prior to his appointment at the Leadership Foundation in 2001, he served as director of the North Dakota Department of Economic Development and Finance, and director of the Department of Tourism.
He has a B.A. degree from Concordia College in Social Work, with an emphasis on seminary studies; and a Master’s Degree in Management from the University of Mary. He was born in Rolla, North Dakota, and received his primary and secondary education in Kindred, North Dakota, where his parents still reside. Cramer and his wife Kris have four children: Ian, Isaac, Rachel and Annie.
