Hoeven Names Citizens To State Boards
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. Hoeven recently appointed several citizens to serve on state boards:
Harley Swenson of Bismarck and Jack Olin of Dickinson have been reappointed to six-year terms on the State Water Commission. Swenson is a consulting civil engineer with Swenson, Hagen and Company, and Olin is the past president of Dickinson Redi-Mix. The State Water Commission Board is chaired by Governor Hoeven. The board membership includes the Commissioner of Agriculture and seven other members appointed by the governor.
Elaine Fremling of Fargo and Frank Larson of Valley City have been reappointed to four-year terms on the Advisory Board to the Bank of North Dakota. Elaine is a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, and Larson is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Starion Financial. The Board advises the Industrial Commission on banking and consumer matters with the Bank of North Dakota.
Clarence Frederick, Sr. of Belcourt has been appointed to a three-year term on the North Dakota Racing Commission. Frederick served as CEO of Indian Health Services in Belcourt before his retirement. The Commission oversees the regulatory functions of live and off-track horse racing.
Charles Axtman of Jamestown and Sandi Frenzel of Dickinson have been reappointed to three-year terms on the State Gaming Commission. Axtman is retired from the Jamestown Credit Bureau and is a former state legislator, and Frenzel is a co-owner and broker with Everett Real Estate. The Commission rewrites the gaming rules and regulations after the Legislative Sessions.
Ron Johnke of Grand Forks has been appointed to a five-year term on the State Board of Accountancy. Johnke is an accountant at Brady Martz and Associates. The Board is responsible for the examination, certification, and licensing of certified public accountants and the licensing of public accountants.
