Hoeven Wins Friendly Wager
Minnesota Governor To Wear UND Hockey Jersey November 26th
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today announced that as the result of the University of North Dakota’s win over the University of Minnesota hockey team on Nov. 8th, Gov. Tim Pawlenty will wear a University of North Dakota hockey jersey for a full day on Nov. 26th.
The two governors recently met and attended a hockey game between the University of North Dakota (UND) and the University of Minnesota. Both governors agreed to a friendly wager and Gov. Pawlenty agreed he would wear a UND jersey on his birthday if the Gophers lost. UND won the match 5-3. Pawlenty’s birthday falls on the Thanksgiving holiday, so he consequently agreed to wear the jersey all day November 26th.
“It was a great match-up between two good teams,” Hoeven said. “UND has one of the finest hockey programs in the nation, and it is great to see them win against their long-standing rivals.”
