Hoeven Confirms It - Pawlenty's Wearing UND Jersey!
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today verified that Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota is fulfilling his end of a wager he lost to Hoeven over a University of North Dakota, University of Minnesota hockey game the two governors attended in Grand Forks on Nov. 8th.
Pawlenty agreed to wear a UND hockey jersey all day on his birthday, tomorrow, November 27, if the Gophers lost to the Fighting Sioux, which they did, 5-3. Because his birthday falls on the Thanksgiving holiday, Pawlenty agreed to wear the jersey today, Nov. 26.
“Winning the game was sweet, and this is the cherry on the cake,” Hoeven said. “It’s a great way to head into the Thanksgiving holiday. First Lady Mikey and I would like to wish all a safe and happy Thanksgiving. This year especially, we need to keep our troops at home and around the world in our hearts and prayers.”
