Hoeven Announces 2004 National Youth Science Camp Delegates
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven announced today that Rochelle Reddig of Killdeer High School and Eric Odegaard of Bisbee-Egeland High School are the recipients of the 2004 National Youth Science Camp awards. They will represent North Dakota as delegates at the National Youth Science Camp in Green Bank, WV, this summer.
“Rochelle and Eric represent North Dakota’s promising young scientists and future leaders,” Hoeven said. “This camp is a great opportunity for them to exchange ideas with academic and corporate professionals and explore new areas in biological and physical sciences.”
Both Reddig and Odegaard will be attending North Dakota State University this fall. Reddig plans to be a veterinarian with a practice in rural North Dakota and Odegaard is pursuing a degree in computer science.
Each year, 102 student delegates - two from each state and the District of Columbia - are invited to participate in the National Youth Science Camp. The four-week forum allows delegates an opportunity to exchange ideas with leading scientists and other professionals from the academic and corporate worlds. Reddig and Odegaard were selected from several student applicants from across North Dakota.
