Hoeven To Tour Devils Lake Area, Meet With Local, State Officials
Governor, State, Local Officials To Hold Media Availability
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven on Wednesday, June 2, will meet with local and state officials, and lead an aerial and ground tour of the Devils Lake area in the aftermath of recent rains and flooding.
Following a low altitude flyover of Devils Lake and Stump Lake, Hoeven will lead a ground tour to inspect affected roads and property along Highways 19, 281 and 57. The Governor will meet with State Flood Coordinating Center officials, as well as officials of Ramsey, Nelson and Benson Counties, and the Spirit Lake Tribe after the tour.
Media are invited to follow the ground tour, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Devils Lake Airport, and to attend the meeting, which will take place at 11 a.m. in the Basement Meeting Room of the Ramsey County Courthouse, 524 4th Ave., Devils Lake.
Joining the Governor will be Department of Transportation Director Dave Sprynczynatyk; Division of Emergency Management Director Doug Friez; State Engineer Dale Frink; FEMA Region VIII Director Dave Maurstad; and other state and local officials.
