Hoeven Announces Joint Workshop To Facilitate Oil And Gas Permitting On Federal Lands
July 14 Workshop To Be Held In Dickinson
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today announced plans for a joint workshop to foster improved understanding of the permitting processes and requirements necessary to conduct successful oil and gas operations on North Dakota’s public lands. The joint venture is the product of a working group Hoeven formed in September 2002 to foster greater understanding between federal agencies and industry, and to expedite the permitting process.
Partners in the workshop are the North Dakota Petroleum Council, the U.S. Forest Service and the Governor’s Office. Producers, service companies and pipeline companies who do business on federal lands in North Dakota are encouraged to attend.
“North Dakota is one of the leading energy producing states in the nation, and energy is one of the five industries we’ve targeted for growth,” Hoeven said. “An efficient permitting process is important to developing this important resource for our state.”
The workshop will be held July 14 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (MT) at the Hospitality Inn, 532 15th St. W., in Dickinson. For reservations, call 701-483-5600 or Toll Free 1-800-422-0949.
For more information about the workshop or to print a registration form, visit the North Dakota Oil and Gas Association web site or call (701) 223-6380. The fee for the workshop is $20 and the registration deadline is July 9.
