Hoeven Welcomes New Bus Line To Replace Greyhound Services

BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today announced that Rimrock Trailways has agreed to begin service in North Dakota. Rimrock Trailways CEO Tom Forseth met with Hoeven in Bismarck this afternoon to discuss Rimrock Trailways’ service operation plans. Joining Hoeven and Forseth were North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) officials David Sprynczynatyk, Grant Levi, and Tim Horner.

“Rimrock Trailways’ decision to operate in North Dakota is good news,” Hoeven said. “I welcome Rimrock Trailways as a new business serving our residents.”

According to Sprynczynatyk, “Residents and businesses in the state will have uninterrupted bus service when Greyhound eliminates routes next month.” Greyhound announced last month that it will stop service to every North Dakota city except Fargo by August 18. The company is also reducing its routes in surrounding states.

Forseth said, “I believe providing uninterrupted service in this region of the country is very important and I look forward to serving the people of North Dakota.”

Scheduling details remain to be worked out and will be provided when finalized. NDDOT is continuing to work with other bus companies interested in providing essential service to the region. Interested carriers include Jefferson Lines, New Town Bus Line, Harlowe’s Bus Service, and Dietrich Bus Service.

“Our state Department of Transportation is working closely with these carriers to have a plan in place for uninterrupted bus service well before the August 18 reduction date,” Hoeven said.
