Statement Of Gov. John Hoeven On The Death Of Staff Sgt. Lance Koenig
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today issued the following statement in response to the death of Staff Sgt. Lance Koenig of Fargo, who died yesterday in Iraq while serving his country. Koenig was a member of the North Dakota National Guard’s 141st Engineer Combat Battalion:
“On behalf of all North Dakotans, Mikey and I extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Staff Sgt. Lance Koenig. North Dakota is united in mourning the loss of a true American hero. With courage and devotion to duty, he made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Our hearts and prayers are with his family and friends, and with all of our men and women serving in uniform.”
