Hoeven: Affinity Global Solutions Moves Headquarters To North Dakota
State Royalties To Top $200,000, AGS Negotiating First International Contract

BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today announced that Affinity Global Solutions (AGS), a budgeting software company, has moved its corporate headquarters from California to Bismarck. At the same time, the company announced it is expanding sales into international markets, including South America and the South Pacific. AGS currently employs 13 and plans to add two to five additional staff in Bismarck as the company continues to grow.

AGS markets a software product that was jointly developed with the State of North Dakota. To date, the company has implemented the product in nine states and is the leading provider of public sector budget systems in the country. The partnership between the State and AGS has resulted in more than $5 million in payroll for high technology jobs in Bismarck. The State has also received more than $200,000 in royalty payments, most recently $31,500 from the Federal Elections Commission for a new Budget Projection and Preparation System, and the State of Wyoming.

“By improving North Dakota’s business climate, by targeting technology based businesses for growth, and by partnering with the private sector as we have with AGS, we’re making a real difference in the choices businesses make when they decide to expand or locate their operations,” Hoeven said. “That is resulting in higher paying jobs and economic growth for North Dakota.”

AGS President David Cuttler said, “This is an example of how the public and private sectors can work together to contribute to the long-term economic growth of North Dakota. The State has been an excellent partner, and with their support, we have been able to bring permanent high technology jobs to Bismarck. We are hoping to expand our presence within the state with its excellent education system and highly motivated workforce.”

Trish Pritchard, company vice president and Napoleon, North Dakota native, said, “We have a tremendous opportunity for North Dakota residents to successfully compete with larger technology companies and demonstrate the quality of our region. Our local staff has also had opportunities to work with other states and countries and gain valuable experience. It has been a very exciting time for us and we are working hard to demonstrate the benefits of having technology companies located in Bismarck.”
