Statement Of Gov. John Hoeven On The Death Of Evan Lips
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today issued the following statement in response to news of the death of former state Senate Majority Leader Evan Lips:
“Mikey and I join with North Dakotans today in mourning the loss of Evan Lips, and extending our sympathy and prayers to his family.
“As mayor of Bismarck, senate majority leader in the state Legislature and a member of the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II, Evan Lips, in the course of his life, embodied outstanding service to his community, state and nation. As a public servant, he approached all issues as an advocate for the people of North Dakota, considering only what was right and good for our state. His life’s work is a lasting legacy to North Dakota.”
