Hoeven Urges Caution Due To Severe Winter Weather
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today urged North Dakota residents to be cautious as severe winter weather conditions are experienced across the state.
“With extremely cold temperatures and blowing snow, it is important that people take the necessary precautions when leaving their homes,” Hoeven said.
Several safety precautions should be taken when traveling in adverse conditions including:
- Winterizing your vehicle to ensure they are in top operating condition
- Keeping your gasoline tank as full as possible
- Carrying a cellular phone
- Storing a winter survival kit in your vehicle
North Dakota school superintendents should assess local conditions and use their discretion to restrict school hours or bus schedules when necessary, Hoeven added.
