BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today issued the following statement in response to Justice William Neumann's announcement that he will resign his seat on the North Dakota Supreme Court:
“In more than 25 years of service as a District Court Judge and Supreme Court Justice, Justice Bill Neumann has served the people of North Dakota with energy, honor and distinction. We appreciate his service, and we are pleased he will continue to serve the people of our state in his new capacity as executive director of the State Bar Association of North Dakota. We extend our best wishes to him as he undertakes this new endeavor.
“We will now begin the process of selecting a successor for Justice Neumann in a timely fashion, so that the Supreme Court is able to maintain its workload.”
