Hoeven Announces Economic Development Investment For Standing Rock Sioux Tribe
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today announced that the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) will invest $40,000 in the continued implementation of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s economic development planning program. The investment is part of President Bush’s commitment to keep America working.
“This EDA investment will help build economic successes that will benefit families and businesses on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation,” Hoeven said. “As North Dakota’s economy continues to grow and diversify, it is important that all communities share in economic opportunity.”
This funding is part of EDA’s commitment to provide financial assistance to meet the economic development needs of distressed communities throughout the United States. In partnership with state and local officials, EDA promotes innovation and competitiveness to prepare regions nationwide for growth and success in the global economy.
