Hoeven And Colorado Gov. Bill Owens Make Friendly Wager On NCAA Title Game
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today announced that he and Colorado Governor Bill Owens have agreed to a friendly wager regarding the outcome of tomorrow night’s NCAA Frozen Four title game between the University of North Dakota (UND) and Denver University. The Pioneers stole the Sioux’s shot at the championship last year by defeating them 1-0 in the West Regional before taking the national crown.
If Denver University retains the NCAA title, Hoeven will invite Gov. Owens to Medora for a weekend of enjoying beautiful Theodore Roosevelt National Park, biking the Maah Daah Hey Trail, golfing the Bully Pulpit and an evening at the Pitchfork Fondue and the Medora Musical. If UND wins the championship, Hoeven will be treated to a weekend of skiing at a Colorado mountain resort.
“This title game will be a great match-up between the finest hockey team in the nation and the defending champions,” Hoeven said. “I am looking forward to celebrating UND’s victory on the slopes of Colorado.”
