Hoeven Statement On The Resignation Of Rick Clayburgh
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today issued the following statement in response to the resignation of Tax Commissioner Rick Clayburgh, who is leaving his position to become executive vice president of the North Dakota Bankers Association:
"As both a legislator and tax commissioner, Rick has been a dedicated servant of North Dakota for the past twenty years, and I am certain that he will serve the North Dakota Bankers Association with the same integrity and distinction. All of us in state government who have worked with him over the years will miss him.
"In accordance with North Dakota law, we will appoint a temporary replacement until the next general election, which is scheduled for November 2006. This corresponds to the end of Commissioner Clayburgh's term."
