Hoeven Appoints Crothers To Supreme Court
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today appointed Daniel Crothers to the North Dakota Supreme Court. Crothers replaces William Neumann who stepped down in March to take a position with the North Dakota State Bar Association. Crothers’ appointment will last until the 2008 General Election.
Crothers currently practices law with Nilles Law Firm in Fargo. During his legal career, Crothers has served as President of the State Bar Association of North Dakota, as a member of the North Dakota Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee, and as a member of the Joint Supreme Court and State Bar Committee on Judicial Standards.
“Daniel’s experience with many different aspects of the law, including his time as a prosecutor and his practice in civil law, will serve him well as a Justice on the Supreme Court,” Hoeven said. “He has an excellent professional track record and is very well respected among his peers.”
Crothers is a native of Fargo, and a graduate of the University of North Dakota where he earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and journalism, as well as his Juris Doctorate. Daniel and his wife Holly have two children.
“I would like to thank Governor Hoeven for giving me the opportunity to serve on the Supreme Court,” Crothers said. “I look forward to this new challenge.”
