Hoeven To Tour Flood Damage In Ward, Bottineau Counties
Governor To Meet With Local Officials, Hold Media Availability

BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven will be in Ward and Bottineau counties Saturday, June 11 to tour the area and assess the damage that resulted from recent heavy rains and severe storms. Hoeven will arrive at Minot General Aviation at 9:45 a.m and tour the area by ground with city officials to determine immediate needs and discuss what the state is doing to assist residents.

Following the tour, the Governor will meet in Minot with local officials at 10:30 a.m. in the Commissioners' Room and hold a media availability at 11:15 a.m. in the Ex-Servicemen’s Room at the Ward County Courthouse, 315 3rd St. SE.

Joining Hoeven on the tour and at the media availability will be Ward County Homeland Security Planner Al Reynolds, County Chief Engineer Roger Kluck and other local officials. Local media are also welcome to accompany him on the tour.

Following the media availability, Hoeven will proceed on to Bottineau Airport, landing at 12:45 p.m. for a ground tour of the community of Souris and the surrounding area. The Governor will meet with area officials at 1:15 p.m. at the Souris Fire Hall, 1st St., to discuss assistance for the community.

Joining the Governor for the Souris tour and meeting will be Rep. Glen Froseth, Rep. Bob Hunskor, Sen. Dave O’Connell and Mayor Terry McDonald. Also attending will be Disaster Emergency Manager Rick Hummel, and County Commissioners Fred Tyler, Dennis Kittleson, Verdean Kveum, David Bernstein and David Larson.
