Hoeven To Tour Storm Damage In Cavalier, Grand Forks Counties
Governor Holds Langdon, Northwood Meetings with Local Officials
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven will be in Cavalier and Grand Forks counties on June 21 to tour local communities and assess damages that resulted from recent severe storm activity. Following the tours, he will meet with local officials in Langdon and Northwood to discuss recovery strategies.
The Langdon area tour will begin at 12 noon at the Langdon Airport. Following the ground tour, the Governor will meet from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. with city and county officials in the Commissioners' Room at the Cavalier County Courthouse, 901 3rd St., Langdon. Media are invited to attend.
Joining the Governor in Langdon will be Cavalier County Emergency Manager Steve Morse; Mayor Bonnie Olson, City Superintendent Rob Gilseth; City Commissioner Chuck Downs; and County Auditor Dawn Roppel. County Commissioners Chairman Donald Quam, Ray Rollness, Harold "Ole" Nowatzki, Neil Romfo and Richard Flanders will also participate.
Following the meeting in Langdon, the Governor will tour storm affected areas of Grand Forks County. The tour will begin at 2 p.m. at Grand Forks Flight Support and travel to Northwood, stopping en route at the Kent Gronlie farm on County Rd. 2, the Arvilla Rd., 12 miles south of Arvilla. The Governor will meet in Northwood with city and county officials from 3 to 3:45 p.m. at the Northwood Community Center, 6 North Raymond St.
Joining Hoeven will be Northwood Mayor Rick Johnson, local officials and residents. Media are invited to attend.
