Hoeven To Send State Response Team To Bottineau, North Central Counties To Assess Storm Damage
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today announced that he is sending a state response team from the N.D. Department of Emergency Services, Department of Transportation and State Water Commission to conduct an aerial and ground tour with local officials of Bottineau County on Saturday, July 8.
The team will assess the impacts of continued flooding and damages resulting from recent severe storm activity, and provide technical assistance and program information to assist the public. Also participating will be officials from the N.D. Department of Health and the N.D. Game and Fish Department.
Following the tour, state and local officials, and residents will participate in a public forum at 3 p.m. in James Howell Auditorium at Bottineau High School, 301 Brander Street. Media are invited to attend.
The tour will include flooded areas surrounding Lake Metigoshe and the city of Bottineau, as well as affected areas of other north central counties, including Rolette and McHenry. It will focus on impacts and continuing threats of flooding to communities. During the tour, state officials will also discuss water management issues with local officials.
The Bottineau County Emergency Manager, Bottineau County Road Superintendent and an official of the Oak Creek Water Resource Board will accompany state officials on the tour.
