Hoeven Encourages North Dakotans To Assist With Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts
Assistance Information Available on State Web Sites
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today encouraged North Dakotans to donate their time or money to disaster relief organizations to assist those in the Gulf Coast states who have been impacted by Hurricane Katrina. The Governor also recommended that citizens concerned about friends or relatives living in the affected areas should contact their local chapter of the American Red Cross for assistance.
"Hurricane Katrina has caused the largest natural disaster in the history of this country and it is going to take the support of all Americans to help those impacted with restoring their lives," Hoeven said. "North Dakotans have always been there for others in a time of need and I know our citizens will step up once again to assist those in the Gulf states."
Information about how North Dakotans can assist with the relief efforts by donating money or volunteering time or resources can be found on the North Dakota State Government Web site at www.nd.gov, the Governor's Web site at www.governor.nd.gov and the Department of Emergency Services Web site at www.state.nd.us/des.
