Hoeven Announces $150,000 Award To Turtle Mountain Housing Authority
BISMARCK , N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today announced that the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Fund will award $150,000 to the Turtle Mountain Housing Authority in Belcourt. The Turtle Mountain Housing Authority, which is identified by the CDFI Fund as a local community development financial institution, will receive the funding under the fiscal year 2005 round of the Native American CDFI Assistance program.
"We are continually working to grow our economy and increase the quality of life for all North Dakotans," Hoeven said. "This investment will benefit both families and businesses on the Turtle Mountain Chippewa Indian Reservation."
The CDFI funds are to be used to provide needed capital, credit and other financial products in addition to technical assistance to community residents and businesses, service providers, and developers working to meet community needs.
