Statement Of Gov. John Hoeven
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today issued the following statement:
“I wish to put to rest the speculation about my political intentions at this time.
“The outpouring of support and encouragement I have received to run for the United States Senate is truly humbling, but as I have said, repeatedly, I am focused squarely on the job of governor.
“First Lady Mikey and I greatly appreciate the faith that the citizens of North Dakota have placed in us as Governor and First Lady. We have worked hard to help the people of North Dakota grow and diversify our state’s economy and to create better paying jobs. I believe we have made real progress and we want to do all we can to keep North Dakota moving forward.
“A day may come when we ask the people of North Dakota to allow us to serve them in a different capacity, but that time is not now.”
