Gov. Rounds and Gov. Hoeven make friendly wager on NCC title game
PIERRE, S.D. and BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Mike Rounds and Gov. John Hoeven today announced that they have agreed to a friendly wager regarding the outcome of tomorrow afternoon's North Central Conference (NCC) game between the University of South Dakota Coyotes (USD) and the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux (UND). The 16th-ranked USD football team (8-2, 3-2 NCC) will play seventh-ranked UND in what shapes up to be the NCC title game at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the DakotaDome in Vermillion, S.D.
If USD wins the game, Gov. Hoeven will send an assortment of SHEYENNNE VALLEY QUALITY ASSURED all natural beef steaks to Gov. Rounds. If UND wins the game, Gov. Rounds will send an assortment of SOUTH DAKOTA CERTIFIED BEEF™ premium steaks to the governor’s residence. Both states have established state inspection and quality assurance programs for beef.
“This title game will be a great match-up between two very good football teams,” said Rounds. “As much as I want Gov. Hoeven to enjoy a great steak, I’ve got a good feeling that USD will emerge victorious on Saturday.”
“Although North Dakota beef is second to none, I'm sure I'll enjoy celebrating over one of Gov. Rounds' wagered steaks,” Hoeven said. “The game promises to be great – and whoever wins the steaks is sure to be happy with the prize.”
