Hoeven Announces More Than $1.3 Million In Continuum Of Care Grants
BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. John Hoeven today announced that seven North Dakota organizations will receive more than $1.3 million in Continuum of Care grants to assist displaced individuals in the state, primarily women, children and veterans.
“Events this year have highlighted the fact that people are displaced from their homes for many different reasons,” Hoeven said. “These grants will help the people in our state who need it the most.”
The grants will specifically fund transitional and permanent supportive housing projects in Fargo, Grand Forks, Bismarck and Dickinson, providing homeless persons and families with options for attaining a permanent home and self-sufficiency. Some of the groups received funding for multiple projects.
The North Dakota Continuum of Care Plan is a long-term, comprehensive planning and development initiative that identifies and addresses the causes of homelessness and the needs of the homeless in the state. The North Dakota Coalition of Homeless People is the lead entity overseeing the development and implementation of the plan, with assistance from several organizations statewide.
