Hoeven To Introduce Resolution At GEC For More E-85 Vehicles, More Models For Greater Energy Independence
WASHINGTON, D.C. – At the annual meeting of the Governors’ Ethanol Coalition Gov. John Hoeven will present representatives of the major automakers with a resolution calling on the industry to produce more flexible fuel ethanol vehicles and more models that are E85 compatible for consumers to choose from. Gov. Hoeven is working to secure the support of all 32 members of the GEC for the resolution.
Flexible fuel vehicles are able to use E-85, a blend of fuel consisting of 85 percent ethanol produced from domestic corn or other vegetable matter, and 15 percent gasoline. Hoeven drafted and introduced the measure, which was approved by members of the coalition, to help increase energy independence, enhance national security and boost rural economies.
The presentation will take place on Tuesday, February 28 at 1:50 p.m. at the Hotel Washington, Pennsylvania Avenue and 15th St. N.W., Washington, D.C., (202-628-9768). A media availability will follow the presentation in the hotel’s Parkview Room, adjacent to the meeting.
