Hoeven Statement On The Death Of Cpl. Paul A. Beyer In Iraq

BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today issued the following statement in response to the death of Corporal Paul A. Beyer, who died in Baghdad, Iraq when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device. He served our country in the 101st Airborne Div. out of Fort Campbell:

"Mikey and I are deeply saddened by the death of Cpl. Paul Beyer, who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation in Iraq. We join with all North Dakotans and all Americans in mourning his loss.

"We extend our heartfelt sympathy to Paul's wife Calli, his parents, Jilllene and Scott, and to all his family and friends. We pray they find strength throughout this difficult ordeal. Their sacrifice, too, is great, and our hearts and prayers are with them. Paul is a true North Dakota hero and a true American hero, who gave his life so that all of us might be safe and free. We pledge never to forget his sacrifice or that of his family."
