Hoeven Announces Six EDA Grants To Promote Regional Economic Development Planning

BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today announced that the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA) has awarded grants to six North Dakota groups to support long-term regional economic development planning efforts. The grants include:

  • $44,000 - Turtle Mountain Bank of Chippewa, Belcourt
  • $52,000 - Lewis & Clark Regional Development Council, Bismarck
  • $52,000 - Lake Agassiz Regional Council, Fargo
  • $52,000 - North Central Planning Council, Devils Lake
  • $52,000 - Souris Basin Planning Council, Minot
  • $52,000 - Roosevelt-Custer Regional Council for Development, Dickinson

"As North Dakota's economy continues to grow and diversify, it is important that all communities share in economic opportunity," said Hoeven. "Regional councils across North Dakota are working hard every day to grow our state's economy and create a better standard of living for all of us. The grants from the Economic Development Administration will help in their efforts to attract new businesses and expand existing businesses."

EDA's mission is to lead the federal economic development agenda by promoting innovation and competitiveness, preparing American Regions for growth and success in the worldwide economy.
