Statement Of Gov. John Hoeven On The Death Of Thomas Kleppe
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today issued the following statement on the death of Kintyre, North Dakota native Tom Kleppe, who served as a two-term congressman, director of the Small Business Administration and secretary of the Interior Department under President Gerald Ford:
"Tom was a businessman, a public servant, and an able ambassador from North Dakota to the nation. He served his state and his country well, and in many different capacities. His long life is a testament to North Dakotans' energy, industry and good sense."
