Hoeven To Present 2006 Exporter Of The Year Award Thursday
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven will present North Dakota's 2006 Exporter of the Year Award to a North Dakota company Thursday, March 22 at 11:30 a.m. at the Ramada Plaza Suites in Fargo.
The award will be one of North Dakota's two international business awards presented Thursday during Global Business Connections, a two-day international business conference sponsored by the North Dakota Trade Office and its partners.
Hoeven also will announce the winner of North Dakota's International Business Resource Award which will be presented to a company that has demonstrated excellence in helping North Dakota businesses succeed throughout the world.
The media is invited to attend all conference programs including Thursday's keynote address by Rick Karlgaard, publisher of Forbes magazine. Karlgaard will speak about the global economy and its connection to North Dakota.
Hoeven, Rich Karlgaard and award recipients will be available for news interviews Thursday, noon to 12:30.
On Friday, Lt. Gov. Jack Dalrymple and officials from the U.S. Department of Commerce and Small Business Administration will announce that two North Dakota companies have won national export awards.
The awards, presented by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Small Business Administration, will be announced Friday at 12:30 p.m. Friday's awards ceremony will be followed by Microsoft Corporation Vice President Doug Burgum who will discuss his experiences in building a successful global business on the plains.
Lt. Gov. Dalrymple and other presenters and recipients of the national export awards will be available for interviews.
