Hoeven Statement On The Deaths Of Army Staff Sgt. David Kuehl And Sgt. Jason Schumann In Iraq
BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. John Hoeven today issued the following statement in response to news of the deaths of Staff Sgt. David Kuehl, 2nd Infantry Division, and Sgt. Jason Schumann, 10th Mountain Division, in Iraq. Both soldiers were serving in the U.S. Army and had roots in North Dakota. Staff Sgt. Kuehl’s parents reside in Wahpeton, and Sgt. Schumann’s mother is a Fargo resident.
“Mikey and I, and all North Dakotans, are deeply saddened by the loss of Staff Sgt. David Kuehl and Sgt. Jason Schumann, who died in the service of their country while serving in Iraq with the U.S. Army. We extend our sympathy to their families and friends, and pray that they find comfort in the love, support and gratitude of others during these difficult times. The thoughts and prayers of all North Dakotans are with them. David’s and Jason’s heroism and dedication to the cause of freedom will live on in the hearts and memories of North Dakotans.”
