Hoeven Updates June 4 Flood Emergency To Include Statewide Impacts

BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. John Hoeven today updated the flood emergency declaration he issued June 4 to a statewide emergency in order to assist and support communities impacted by recent flooding. The revised declaration reflects damages resulting from heavy rainfall since May 4 that has caused or is causing river and small stream flooding, and damage to roads, bridges, farmland, homes and businesses throughout the state.

“The impacts of recent heavy rains have now affected not only the Red River Valley, but also farmers, homeowners and businesses across North Dakota,” Hoeven said. “We will continue to work with local officials to help all regions of the state and make sure they’re eligible for state and federal assistance.”

Involved in the statewide response are the Governor’s Office, N.D. Highway Patrol, N.D. Game and Fish Department, N.D. Department of Human Services, N.D. State Water Commission and N.D. Department of Emergency Services are all . The N.D. National Guard, the N.D. Highway Patrol, and the N.D. Department of Transportation have deployed resources in support of flood operations.
