Hoeven Extends Hours Of Service Waiver For Fuel Delivery Drivers To July 28
Executive Order 2007-10
(90kb pdf)
BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. John Hoeven has issued an executive order extending the waiver of service hours for commercial truck drivers providing gas stations with fuel until 12:01 a.m. CDT on July 28, 2007. The measure extends an earlier executive order due to expire at 12:01 a.m. on July 19, 2007.
Minnesota and South Dakota have also waived service-hour restrictions, and the Department of Transportation's Motor Carrier Safety Administration has recognized the action in all three states, enabling interstate transfer of petroleum products. All road safety and vehicle compliance regulations still apply and will be fully enforced.
Reduced supplies owing to slowdowns and shutdowns at major petroleum refineries in the region have combined with increased fuel demand to create a potential gasoline shortage in North Dakota and regionally.
