Hoeven Announces Addition Of Cass And Cavalier Counties To Presidential Disaster Declaration
BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. John Hoeven today announced the addition of Cass and Cavalier Counties to the Presidential Disaster Declaration issued for June 2-18 storms and flooding.
"Inclusion of these counties in this disaster declaration will ensure they receive aid in the recovery process,” Hoeven said. “We thank those involved in the reporting process for their continued efforts to obtain help where help is most needed.”
Hoeven received notification from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that Cass and Cavalier Counties are eligible for Public Assistance reimbursement for repairs to public infrastructure and debris removal.
Jurisdictions now designated to receive disaster recovery assistance from Presidential Disaster Declaration 1713 include 13 counties: Barnes, Bowman, Cass, Cavalier, Dickey, Grant, LaMoure, Logan, McHenry, Ransom, Richland, Sargent and Stutsman.
The disaster declaration is based on Preliminary Damage Assessments (PDAs) compiled by local, state and federal teams and submitted to FEMA by the North Dakota Department of Emergency Services.
