Statement Of Gov. John Hoeven On His Meeting With Doosan Infracore C.E.O. Mr. Yongmaan Park
BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. John Hoeven issued the following statement after meeting this morning with Doosan Infracore CEO Mr. Yongmaan Park; company President Mr. Yong Sung Kim; Doosan Corporation Vice Chairman James B. Bemowski; Bobcat President Richard Pedtke; and other senior Bobcat officials:
"This morning, I met with Mr. Yongmaan Park and his senior management team about the future of Bobcat in North Dakota. We discussed the advantages of North Dakota's business climate and its central proximity to North American markets. I also made clear to Mr. Park that in addition to Bobcat's physical assets, much of its value and strength is in its exceptional workforce."
"Mr. Park said that Doosan Infracore plans to maintain Bobcat's headquarters in Fargo and its plants in Gwinner and Bismarck. They said they do not plan to outsource jobs, and they do plan to honor labor agreements. In this and in previous conversations, Mr. Park told me that Bobcat's and Doosan's products, manufacturing capabilities and market strengths complement rather than compete with one another. According to both officials, Doosan's acquisition of Bobcat provides the company with added manufacturing capability, helping the company to grow its worldwide operations.
"We will continue to do all we can to enhance Bobcat's strong presence as a quality employer in North Dakota."
