Hoeven Issues Hours Of Service Waiver For Fuel Delivery Drivers Until September 9

BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. John Hoeven today issued an executive order waiving service hour restrictions for commercial truck drivers providing gasoline and diesel fuel until 12:01 a.m. CDT on Sept. 9, 2007. All road safety and vehicle compliance regulations still apply and will be fully enforced.
Reduced supplies owing to increased demand for fuel during harvest, as well as regional slow downs at major petroleum refineries in the region, have created a potential fuel shortage in North Dakota and regionally. South Dakota and Nebraska have also waived service-hour restrictions until September 9.
