Hoeven Statement On Insurance Commissioner Jim Poolman's Announcement Today
BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. John Hoeven today issued the following statement in response to Insurance Commissioner Jim Poolman’s announcement that he will take a position in the private sector:
“As both a legislator and Insurance Commissioner, Jim Poolman has served the people of North Dakota with dedication and distinction. All of us who have worked with him over the years will miss his professionalism, intelligence and good humor. We wish him, his wife Nicole and their family the best as they pursue their new endeavor in the private sector.
“I have met with Deputy Insurance Commissioner Rebecca Ternes and she has agreed to serve as acting commissioner effective Sept. 1, 2007, pending the appointment of a new insurance commissioner.”
