Governor Proclaims Veterans Awareness Week In North Dakota
BISMARCK, N.D. – In accordance with a proclamation issued by President George W. Bush, Governor John Hoeven has declared November 11-17, Veterans Awareness Week in the state to honor the contributions of veterans and those currently serving at home and abroad. He encouraged North Dakotans to observe Veterans Day and the entire week by honoring veterans through ceremonies and patriotic activities, and by displaying the American and North Dakota flags.
“Veterans Day and Veterans Awareness Week are dedicated to the extraordinary Americans who protected our freedoms in the past and who carry on that proud tradition today,” Hoeven said. “They represent the very best of our state and nation, and have earned the lasting respect and gratitude of their fellow citizens.”
Hoeven will honor North Dakota’s veterans and servicemen and servicewomen on Veterans Day, November 11, at a service beginning at 10 a.m. in the Auditorium of the North Dakota Heritage Center on the Capitol Grounds in Bismarck.
