Hoeven Extends Hours Of Service Waiver For Fuel Delivery Drivers To December 15
Executive Order 19
(597kb pdf)
BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. John Hoeven has issued an executive order extending the waiver of service hours for commercial truck drivers in North Dakota carrying petroleum products, particularly gasoline, diesel and home heating oil, until 12:01 a.m. CDT on December 15, 2007. The measure extends an earlier executive order due to expire at 12:01 a.m. on November 30, 2007.
Reduced supplies of fuel owing to a fire at a major petroleum pipeline in Minnesota have combined with increased demand for heating oil due to recent cold weather to create potential shortages of gasoline, diesel fuel and home heating oil in North Dakota and the region. Hoeven has also been urging regional refineries to direct more fuel to North Dakota distributors.
