Dalrymple, Delegates To Brief Media On Korean Trade Mission Progress

BISMARCK, N.D. - Lt. Gov. Jack Dalrymple will join state business leaders and university officials at two news conferences Thursday, March 27 to brief the media on progress made during a recent trade mission to the Republic of Korea. A news conference in Grand Forks will address business and education opportunities specific to Northeastern North Dakota. A second news conference will be held in Fargo to highlight the trade mission’s accomplishments most relevant to Southeast North Dakota. The news conferences will be held as follows:

Mission delegates will discuss new sales and distribution opportunities. Dalrymple will discuss high level talks with Doosan Corp. senior executives regarding Bobcat and transportation issues, as well as high level meetings with Korean shipping companies. The Lt. Governor and Commissioner Johnson, who was also on the trade mission, will discuss the Korean beef ban and prospects for lifting the embargo.

Delegates on hand to discuss the mission include Victoria Beard, associate provost at UND; Jon Swegarden President of Fargo-based Precision Diagnostic Services, Jon Swegarden President of Precision Diagnostics in Fargo, Vance Taylor, general manager of the North Dakota State Mill and Lisa Hauck, associate director of NDSU’s Office of International Programs. Agriculture Commissioner Johnson will join the news conference by telephone.

Dalrymple led the 25-member delegation to Seoul, South Korea on March 14. They completed their weeklong business trip Friday, March 21.
